The co-chairman of “Democratic Bulgaria” Atanas Atanasov commented to BNT that Boyko Rashkov is doing a good job, but has reservations about the Secretary General of the Ministry of Interior. “We continue the change” has already announced that they want to nominate Rashkov at the head of the ministry and in the regular government. In the morning, this was confirmed by Kiril Petkov, but it was not clear from his words whether Rashkov agreed and what was the reaction of the other parties.
“Boyko Rashkov is doing his job. He is a professional, a lawyer with long experience in the field of investigation. But should this chief secretary, who was appointed quickly and quietly, remain in this position? Do other professional Interior Ministry officials have the qualities to do so? ? “Atanasov asked.
Chief Secretary is Petar Todorov. He was appointed by presidential decree in early August, having previously been acting director of the Plovdiv Regional Directorate of the Interior Ministry. His candidacy was decided in a closed session of the government.
Atanasov also commented that the Security Sector needs “certain balances”.
“Those appointed by the caretaker government will remain in it, or at least some of them. Therefore, there must be people in the National Assembly who demand serious reforms through parliamentary control and control not to abuse power in the sector,” he explained.
He expects a government before Christmas.
