“Ataka” Leader Criticizes May 24th Celebration of English Prize for Bulgarian Novel

I feel sorry for all the aborigines for whom some meaningless English award is more important than the Bulgarian script and alphabet, asks the cancer leader

The leader of “Ataka” Volen Siderov wrote a critical comment on the occasion of the holiday – May 24 and the Booker prize received by Georgi Gospodinov for his novel “Time Asylum”. According to Siderov

On the day of Bulgarian writing, the mayor of Sofia, the president and all the TV studios pointed out as pride number 1 some English award, given in principle for a NOVEL IN ENGLISH LANGUAGE, awarded these days to a Bulgarian author.

I asked various people whether we celebrate the English script or the Bulgarian script from the 9th century, when there was no English script. On today’s holiday date, I wrote several parody messages to known living intellectuals and Facebook chats. I proposed that May 24th should become Gosho Gospodinov’s day, and that the megalomaniac, Soviet, Putin statues of certain Cyril and Methodius should be removed and transferred to the museum of socialist art – they were made in 1957, can you imagine! In their place, Chapa to sculpt the figure of the genius Gospodinov.

Because I know that sorosists will jump on me, I will only say: at the time in the elite mathematics high school in Yambol, when a new student appeared, we asked if he was from Yambol or from the villages. Well, Gosho is from the Yambol villages. But what does it matter, shout the Soroshists. There is, there is… Because if you were born in the center of the city that published the first futuristic magazine in Bulgaria in 1924 “Crescendo”, there is.

I also have reason to call him Gosho, because that’s what they call Georgi in Yambol. Not Joro – Gosho. Yambol is not a province, but a center.

However, an oppressive provincialism emanated from the official celebration in front of the National Library. Fandakova, the sweet one, helpless as a squad leader at her first Komsomol meeting, embarrassedly read a thank you to Gosho Gospodinov, as if he had invented the alphabet. After that he gave the floor to an unknown “writer”, who spent half an hour explaining to us on the central airwaves how Bulgaria’s greatest spiritual achievement was some English award given to Gosho. And finally, the president also paid tribute to political correctness and connected the feast of the Holy Brothers with Gosho Gospodinov.

There is an old saying that you take nothing from the Danaans. And there are no greater Danaans than the vile English. But everyone on the anti-Bulgarian TV channels is wringing their hands and gasping at how proud we are that some British award for, notice, a NOVEL IN ENGLISH, has been presented to the scumbags of the Soroshists for years Gosho. And he accepted the award in English on May 24 – the day of the Bulgarian language.

Couldn’t he say his speech in Bulgarian and emphasize which is the oldest and most authentic language in Europe? No, he apologized at the end that he was going to say a sentence in Bulgarian.

Don’t we know that the Nobel Prizes, the Oscars for journalism and the likes of the Booker have long been politically correct carrots for docile pseudo-intellectuals. If Hristo Grozev, who won the Oscar, is an investigative journalist, I am a cosmonaut. If Gospodinov is the best contemporary Bulgarian writer, I am becoming a cosmonaut for the second time – like Alexander Alexandrov.

The best contemporary Bulgarian writer is called Viktor Paskov. And the greatest novel of recent decades is called “Ballad of Georg Henich” – it was published in the 80s in the magazine “Svremennik”. But there is no Booker for it. No applause for him.

I feel sorry for all the aborigines, for whom some meaningless English prize is more important than the Bulgarian script and alphabet. Sorry anchors and commentators from all tv studios. I pity mayors, notables and statesmen who behave like natives.

I want to say: “Forgive them, Lord, they don’t know what they are doing!”

But I suspect they know, and that stops me for now.
