They expire . The coup took place in the middle of the night, at 2.30 on Monday 13 February, the time the video surveillance system was switched off.
They cut off the power to the whole system and then, with a vacuum cleaner, they sucked up the weekend’s proceeds from the self-service automatic till: loot around 3,700 euros. This is what happened in the night between 12 and 13 February at the Eni petrol station in Spirano, which had to be closed all day on Monday due to the damage it suffered. The thieves went into action around 2.30, the time is known because the video surveillance system was turned off at that very moment.
According to what was reconstructed by the carabinieri of the Treviglio company, who intervened on the spot for the reliefs, the criminals first parked away from the petrol station, presumably in the parking lot of the nearby industrial area, after which they reached the plant from behind, passing through the fields. They broke the glass of the emergency button and set off the fire alarm which, for safety, cuts off the current that powers the petrol pumps and the self-service automatic till. “It is clear that they knew what they were doing – says the owner – since they knew how to turn off the video surveillance system”. For their safety, the thieves also forced open the electrical panel and lowered the general electricity meter. They then concentrated on the self-service automatic till, breaking into the part set up for inserting banknotes.
The owner: «It is clear that they knew their business since they knew how to turn off the video surveillance system»
Thus, they made a slit through which they inserted the mouth of a vacuum cleaner with which they sucked up all the money that was inside. Having grabbed the loot, they fled undisturbed. What happened was noticed by the patrol of a supervisory institution who warned the owners of the vending machine, who, having arrived on the spot, could do nothing but call 112.
