NAPOLI – Al Mercadante redoubt, Tuesday 5 November, from 10.00 to 19.00, it hosts the conference of studies and testimonies The word of Naples. Neapolitan Dramaturgy in Italy; the care of Luciana Libero with the patronage of Municipality of Naples Naples Prize Foundation e Maurizio Valenzi Foundation.
It is dedicated to the memory of three important names of that rich Neapolitan dramaturgical production which characterized the Neapolitan theater scene in the early 80s of the last century, imposing itself with authority on the national scene and beyond.The word of Naples. Neapolitan Dramaturgy in Italy”, the conference scheduled for November 5th at the Teatro Mercadante in Naples curated by Luciana Libero. Promoted by Theater of Naples–National Theatrewith the Patronage of the Municipality of Naplesfrom the Naples Prize Foundation and of Maurizio Valenzi Foundation.
Con Manlio Santanelli e Emergency Exit, Hannibal Rbird con Jennifer’s five roses, Enzo Moscato con Artichoke e Scannasurice, Francesco Silvestri con My child – to quote titles written and staged between 1980 and 1982 – Naples began a new, in many ways unprecedented, theatrical season starting from the word, from the text, from the dramaturgy.
The conference of studies and testimonies is dedicated to this happy authorial period – to which the protagonists almost always lent their voice and body as actors – and to the luminous story traced over the following decades
Authoritative scholars and essayists, as well as critics, artists and operators, participate in it, reporting from different points of view and fields on the personalities, works and themes expressed by the “word” of Naples and their weight in contemporary Italian dramaturgy.
«In the 80s of the last century – writes the curator – a successful book with the title After Eduardowhich collected the first works of Manlio Santanelli, Annibale Raiuto, Enzo Moscato, marked the boundary of a dramaturgical area that from Naples opened up many suggestions arising from that debut: the descent from De Filippo but also the relationships with Raffaele Viviani without neglecting the relationship with the great European playwrights of the post-war period, from Genet to Pinter».

The conference will close with the precious speech of Father Daniel who will read passages from Enzo Moscato.
