Netanyahu at the Presidential Palace – Meets with PtD – Focus on energy and bilateral relations

The Prime Minister of Israel arrived at the Presidential Palace, Benjamin Netanyahuwho will hold a bilateral meeting with the President of the Republic, Nico Christodoulidis.

Mr. Netanyahu, after his official reception, laid a wreath at the statue of Makarios III in the forecourt of the Presidential Palace.

Afterwards, the two political leaders then headed inside the Presidential Palace, where they will sit in personal meetingwhich will be followed by extended talks between the delegations of the two countries.

Among the topics they are expected to discuss are the developments in Cypriotthe bilateral relations Cyprus-Israel, issues energy, regional developmentsas well as the EU-Israel relations.

Before his departure from Israel, Mr. Netanyahu indicated that he would focus on ways to export Israel’s natural gas to Europe, specifically mentioning either a natural gas pipeline EastWithor natural gas liquefaction plant in Cyprus.

According to an announcement by the Presidency, the meeting between the two leaders is a continuation of President Christodoulides’ visit to Israel last May.

On Monday, Nicosia will host the tripartite Cyprus-Greece-Israel summit, with the participation of the Greek Prime Minister, Kyriakos Mitsotakis.
