At the New Year’s Mass, the county bishop Zsolt Marton prayed particularly emphatically for peace, peacefulness – Dunakanyar Region

On the evening of January 1st, the bell called to the episcopal mass in the Church of the Whites, where Zsolt Marton, the chief pastor of the diocese, prayed especially emphatically for peace.

On the main feast of the Motherhood of the Blessed Virgin Mary, as an introduction to the mass, the bishop reflected on the mission of the earthly mother of Jesus, her message that gives a mission to all people, asking that this desire to live for Jesus become a living, life-giving word. After reading the Gospel, the archbishop of the diocese said, among other things, in his homily:

“At the beginning of the new year, we ask for and receive a festive blessing, we do not want to be in an unblessed state this year, we do not want to start this year in an unblessed state, but we want to enter this year with the blessing of the Almighty. The blessing, the asking and giving of the good, the wish for the good is the good wish, the source of which is God, from whom this giving comes for us. The church blesses what it thinks is good, it blesses everything it thinks is valuable, and it wants this value to continue to grow and become richer. He blesses sacramental marriage, he blesses our homes, honest work and many other things, he also blesses the person who strives for good, who desires to convert, who wants to live according to the faith, teachings and values of the church, he also blesses this pursuit of good . On this first day, we want to see the face of the God who blesses all of this and gives his blessing. On December 25, we contemplate the child’s face in spirit, it comes to life, it shines in us, and now we want to see the shining face of the God who loves us. And since we were created in his image, we want to reflect the radiance of his face, this is our calling”.

The chief pastor reminded that St. II. According to Pope János Pál’s order, January 1 is also the World Day of Peace, so it is fitting that on this day we especially ask the blessing God for the grace of peace, since as it is written, one of the names of the incarnate God is “Prince of Peace”.
– We ask God for peace, which is so much needed in the world, either in the neighborhood or in a more distant region. And we also need peace in our hearts, since all unrest starts from within and all peace finds its solution from within. We ask the Lord to make us instruments of his peace, and let us take this peace as witnesses to the world, to our families, to our workplaces, to our communities, wherever our journey takes us – said Zsolt Marton at the end of his homily.
