A new LNG import terminal is to be set up in Brunsbüttel. The investor stated that he was willing to dialogue with opponents of the project. Other port cities, such as Wilhelmshaven and Stade, also applied for the location of the facility. The project should be supported by the government with subsidies. Imports of gas by cargo ships will allow Germany to be supplied with this raw material from a number of new states, such as the USA.
