Gaetano Donizetti’s Messa da Requiem is organized live on Rai 1, organized at the cemetery of Bergamo by the Municipality and the Donizetti Theater Foundation, performed by the orchestra and choir of the Donizetti Opera Festival.

On the podium of the Orchestra and Choir Donizetti Opera, the musical director of the Festival Riccardo Frizza together with a cast of internationally renowned performers: Eleonora Buratto (soprano), Annalisa Stroppa (mezzo soprano), Piero Pretti (Tenor), Alex Esposito (bass), Federico Benetti (bass); choir master Fabio Tartari.
Before the performance, the artistic director of the Donizetti Opera festival Francesco Micheli will read the farewell to the mountains from Alessandro Manzoni’s Promessi sposi.
The citizens of Bergamo, unable to attend the commemoration due to the current rules on the containment of the coronavirus, are represented by the 243 mayors of the province.
