At the end of this year, IKEA plans to open the first planning and ordering place in the Baltics in Tartu

At the end of 2021, IKEA plans to open the first planning and ordering place in the Baltics in the Estonian city of Tartu, where it will advise buyers on the planning of IKEA furniture, such as kitchen equipment, the company informed.

The 1,000-square-meter area will have an exhibition hall, where it will be possible to view interior ideas and find practical interior design solutions, as well as get consultations from IKEA specialists.

IKEA Executive Director in the Baltic States Johannes R. Johanneson

“IKEA is expanding its operations in Estonia and opening another place to meet customers, making IKEA even more accessible to Estonians. Tartu is the second largest city in Estonia, which is why it was chosen as the location for the new concept store, which is the first project of its kind in the Baltic States. The basic idea of a planning and ordering place is to inspire buyers, share knowledge about home design, showcase various interior solutions and offer specialist advice to help improve people’s lives at home, providing them with opportunities closer to home, work or on the go. ”

IKEA’s planning and ordering place in Tartu will help shoppers to create home interior solutions tailored to their individual needs and preferences, for example by creating a kitchen appliance, bathroom furniture system or cabinet. Buyers will be able to use the services independently, for example, using planners, or together with a planning specialist to create the necessary solutions for their home. Practical interior samples and real room arrangements will also be on display in the exhibition hall for inspiration.

It will be possible to order goods on the spot at the place of planning and ordering goods or in the online store. Items that can be purchased online can be picked up at the place of receipt of orders (“Click & Collect”) or delivery services can be used for additional payment when receiving the goods at home. The IKEA planning and ordering site will be located in the Lõunakeskus shopping center and is scheduled to open in December 2021.

IKEA has signed an agreement with the construction company Nordecon As for the construction of an IKEA store near Tallinn. The IKEA store is scheduled to open in autumn 2022.
