The fourth concert series of the Liepaja Symphony Orchestra “Symphony Closer” will end on April 9 with Peter Tchaikovsky’s Fourth or Fate Symphony. Free live broadcast from Liepaja Concert Hall “Big Amber” will start at 7 p.m.

The genius of Russian music, Peter Tchaikovsky, is one of the greatest melodies of all time, and his Fourth Symphony, often referred to as the Fate Symphony, seems to not only music lovers but also the composer himself to be an outstanding work, even the best of everything he has created. It is a piece where tragedy and melancholy turn into a life-affirming victory.

“Listen to the composer’s story, but also hear your own story!” This time the erudite professor Andris Vecumnieks will take the conductor of the Liepāja Symphony Orchestra, and this is his invitation to the listeners to experience this wonderful music.

The concert series “Symphony Closer” is designed to introduce listeners to the cornerstones of the world’s symphonic repertoire – beautiful, classical symphonies that everyone should know. Before the symphony, Orests Silabriedis and the concert program conductor jointly reveal the context of the symphony and the details of the masterpiece structure, while after the symphony, Timura Tomsons we know us as invisible guests in orchestra concerts.

In the first meeting with the symphony, the audience was able to enjoy the popular masterpiece of classicism – Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s 40th Symphony, Liepaja Symphony Orchestra played under the direction of conductor Gunta Kuzma. The second time was when the orchestra, led by conductor Normund Schne, introduced the audience to the wonderful world of music by the Finnish composer Jean Sibelius, playing his Third Symphony, full of extraordinary strength and energy. In the third concert of this cycle, maestro Gintars Rinkevičs delighted the audience with a reading of the impressive Ninth Symphony “From the New World” by Antonin Dvorak. All of these concert recordings are now available on the ticket sales site for a small fee “Ticket Paradise”.

On April 9, the concert, which lasts for about an hour, will be available live on the Internet in the video gallery of the Liepaja Symphony Orchestra www.liepajassimfoniskais.lv, as well as on the orchestra’s Facebook page facebook.com/Liepaja.Symphony.Orchestra. After the free live broadcast, all concert recordings will be available on the “Biļešu paradīze” website for a fee.
