“This year we have prepared a special program with the participation of famous artists representing different genres of music, with one goal – to fill every day with bright emotions, energy and smiles. The festival will perform the world – famous musical humor duo Igudesman & Joo. In total, the artist’s clips have more than 50 million views and more than a million tickets sold worldwide. Also, for the first time in Latvia, a world show tour will take place at the festival Piaf! The Show. The main goal of our team this summer is to see joy and happiness in the eyes of our beloved spectators, “says the patroness of the festival Inese Galante.
On August 18, at the opening concert of the festival, there will be a musical humor show in modern times Igudesman & Joo (Austria) with a specially invited guest from Israel – virtuoso double bassist and multi-talent Adam Ben Ezra (Adam Ben Ezra). Theatrical musical show Igudesman & Joо is a conversation with viewers in the language of music and humor. Alexei Igudesman and Jiangxi-Ki Joe deserve absolute fame in the field of classical musical comedy. “Each performance is a full-fledged show that leaves no one indifferent. Adam, in turn, turns concerts into unforgettable shows in which the double bass becomes a universal instrument and sounds like a full-fledged live orchestra,” says festival director Diāna Galante.
Will perform on August 19 Shantel & The Bucovina Club Orchestra. Stefan Dumbbell, a German musician of Ukrainian descent (Shantel) is a fashion leader in the Balkan music genre. Each performance features exhilarating Balkan and gypsy motifs performed in a contemporary style. Dumbbell has received the Radio-3 BBC Ethnic Music Award. It is no coincidence that he is called the “fiery hooligan”, the “self-proclaimed disco partisan” and the “king of the Balkan dance halls”. None of the listeners can sit still in the musicians’ performances, and the dancing rhythms can captivate even the listener who is with you with music.
Two concerts are expected on August 20. The patroness of the festival, Inese Galante, has prepared a unique concert in the small hall Viva love !, inspired by her love for Jurmala, the audience and art. Inese Galante will perform together with pianist and winner of the international competition Andrejs Osokins. The evening program also includes performances by the winners of the Inese Galante talent competition – both solo and in collaboration with outstanding musicians, the talents will surprise the audience again with their musical skills.
On the same evening, the festival organizers invite you to enjoy jazz and lounge music in the Great Hall. This summer festival Summertime – invites Inese Galante is organized under the slogan The Best. After the brilliant success in Latvia a few years ago Club des Belugas returns to Jurmala, but this time with a new soloist Anna Luka (Anna Luca) from Switzerland. Musical ensemble Club des Belugas the repertoire combines jazz, funk, souls, Brazilian rhythms, European lounge, electro-swing and, of course, bold improvisations. Music critics, on the other hand, have compared Anna’s compositions to the poetic mirror of our time, seeing honesty and hope in her lyrics.
A special show has been prepared for the final concert on August 21. For the first time in Latvia – a unique music show tour about the life and music of the legendary French singer Edita Piafa. Show Piaf! The Show boasts more than a million tickets sold in more than 50 countries around the world and only excited public feedback.
Piaf! The Show was originally held to mark the 100th anniversary of the legendary French singer Edith Piafa. However, the project’s great success continues to this day. Singer and actress Natalia Lermita (Nathalie Lermitte), who has been declared Edith Piafa ‘s “legitimate musical heiress”, will perform all the French genius artist’ s hits. Before the final concert, everyone will have the opportunity to ask questions about the beginnings of the project, its idea, preparations, participants and, of course, the life and music of the legendary French singer Edith Piafa. During the creative meeting, Natalia Lermita will share the details of the life behind the scenes of the project, which is not written about in the press.
