BS is a professional farmer born on 06/10/1990, single without children living in Yéguéresso in Houet. His stepfather JS, born on 01/01/1986 in Yéguéresso, single and father of 4 children, is also a farmer living in Yéguéresso. The second sidekick, TS, is also a farmer living in Yéguéresso, single and the father of three children. These three are accused of intentionally injuring MS, another resident of Yéguéresso, with a slingshot. This left him unable to work for more than ten days. On the stand, BS, JS and TS admitted the facts. Victim MS explains: “I went to a pub to get a beer before I went home. In the meantime, I unfortunately stepped on the feet of BS and apologized to him. But he didn’t want to hear anything from me and we fought. It was after this that his two chickens came with him, hitting me aiming for my left eye. Until now, I can no longer see anything from this eye.
BS then defends himself by saying. “I was in the booth with MS. We were fighting and my little father JS and my brother TS came to help me,” he explains. JS then admits that he hit MS on the back with a stick because he spilled his son BS’s beer “No one told me to do it. I did it because my son was in danger and I just wanted to protect him,” he explains.
Answering a question from the prosecutor, TS said: “I was not at the scene, I was passing by when I saw my brother fighting. I moved closer to separate them and told them to go home because it was getting late. That’s when MS turned around and immediately knocked me to the ground. Something I could not bear. That’s why I used my slingshot to stone him, but I didn’t know he was hurt. It was after that I heard that.” After the controversial debates, the file was postponed until May 14, 2024 pending the final medical certificate for the victim’s eye.
