At the border with Greece: COVID vaccine certificates are checked … by eye

At the border with Greece at the Kulata border checkpoint, the vaccination certificates, which are one of the conditions for entering the country, are checked by RHI Blagoevgrad by eye.

At the border with our southern neighbor, large queues are formed in both directions precisely because of the inspections.

Currently, Bulgarians can return to our country only against a vaccination certificate or PCR and antigen test, done within 72 hours before arrival or 48 hours before.

“The certificate has a barcode, but we are only equipped with some tablets that do not allow us to check whether these certificates are genuine or not. We rely on the correctness of the people,” he admitted to bTV representative of RHI Blagoevgrad.

According to her, there are people who try to cheat, but the health authorities still rely on the correctness of individual citizens.

If the conditions for entry into the country are not met, the entrants are placed under a 10-day quarantine, which can be revoked with a negative test performed in a licensed laboratory.
