An extended name for a protean reality, since the establishment includes a general and technological agricultural high school, an apprenticeship training center (CFA), a vocational training and agricultural promotion center (CFPPA), but also a farm of 135 hectares, to which must be added an agri-food hall and laboratories specializing in pharmaceuticals, microbiology and chemistry.
Obviously, the training offer is like this Prévert-style list: abundant, a little labyrinthine. And not at all confined to agricultural trades.

For college or second-grade students, who are destined for veterinary medicine, Philippe Raynard argues that only agricultural high schools offer education in the specialty of biology-ecology, which “is a gateway to veterinary schools”, specifies the director. Another point in favor of the general sections offered at La Saussaye: the numbers are “reduced, with sixteen students in first and terminal”. Consequence, according to Grégory Laborde, of this small workforce: the establishment boasts a 100% success rate in the scientific baccalaureate for more than ten years.

The agricultural high school also prepares students for the technological baccalaureate in agronomy and living sciences and technologies (STAV). “This bac has the same common core as that of National Education,” insists Philippe Raynard. “Terminals in STAV can therefore make their wishes on Parcoursup like the others. This baccalaureate, if it leads quite naturally to the agricultural production professions, also opens up prospects in the field of the environment and regional planning.

While high school students have until March 11 to express their wishes on Parcoursup, the director of the establishment also insists on post-baccalaureate training provided at La Saussaye. Among them, the BTSa Analysis and management of operating systems (Acse). Philippe Raynard specifies:

Another bowstring of the establishment: the agrifood sector. Chartres-La Saussaye is a regional competence center for food processing. After a professional bio-processing industry baccalaureate, students can move on to a BTS in food science and technology (STA), “in high school or in CFA”, specifies Philippe Raynard, then continue to the professional management license. from industrial production, specializing in management and operation of production units, offered at the IUT of Chartres, then, for the most motivated, towards the engineering diploma offered by the Chartres branch of Polytech Orléans. Open doors
“We risk living 100% of the orientation phase without seeing anyone in person,” fears Philippe Raynard. This will be the case for the first open house meeting, on Wednesday February 17, which will be organized as a virtual forum. From 1:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m., students of all levels will be able to find out about all the courses offered at La Saussaye, in accordance with the procedures which will be detailed on the site of the establishment. Other open days will be offered on Saturday March 13 and Wednesday May 19.
