At least six people were killed and more than twenty were injured after a fire broke out at a research institute affiliated with the Russian military on Thursday, according to the news agency Tass. The same day, a chemical plant burned down.

According to the Russian news agency Tass Six people were killed and 27 injured after a fire broke out in a research institute affiliated with the space department of the Russian defense in the city of Tver, about 160 kilometers northwest of Moscow.
The fire broke out on the second floor of the office part of the facility at 09.30 on Thursday morning. The fire is said to have spread over an area of around 2,500 square meters and several floors.
According to local authorities, several were injured by the smoke, while some were injured when they tried to jump out of the window, writes Tass.
At 07.33 on Friday morning, the fire was extinguished, another source states the news agency.
