At least one dead in a shooting after the celebrations for the Kansas City Chiefs’ Super Bowl victory – – 2024-02-17 11:55:50

At least one person was killed and at least nine were injured in a shooting at the Kansas City Chiefs parade to celebrate the Super Bowl this Wednesday in the city of Kansas City, United States. The celebrations ended with scenes of chaos, police and ambulances, after gunshots were reported.

Three of the injured were in critical condition and five in serious condition.

The event occurred in the vicinity of Union Station, Kansas City’s central railway station, according to the local Police Department.

“There were shots fired west of Union Station, near the garage, and several people were injured,” said police, who also reported the arrest of “two armed people.”

Fire Department Battalion Chief Michael Hopkins declined to comment further, saying only that additional information would be released soon.

Police said in a news release that two people were detained. Fans were urged to leave the area as soon as possible.

Kansas City police said on Police also asked witnesses to the shooting to come to a corner near Union Station.

The shooting broke the festive mood of Valentine’s Day, as Chiefs fans celebrated their third Super Bowl title in five seasons.
