At least eight people were killed in shootings in three massage parlors in the city of Atlanta, Georgia, on Tuesday. The police have arrested a man.
A large proportion of the victims were Asian-American women, according to authorities.
Three people were killed at a massage parlor in a suburb in the northeast of the American city. Another dead was found in a salon on the same street. Shortly afterwards, two more were found dead and three injured at a wellness center elsewhere in the city. Two of them later died in hospital.
The suspected shooter is 21-year-old Robert Aaron Long, according to police. After hours of manhunt, he was arrested some 150 miles south of the metropolis. His motive is still unclear.
Police are currently checking other massage salons in Atlanta to see if more places have been killed.
