At least four dead and three injured were left this Sunday by a massacre committed in Quibdó, the capital of the Colombian department of Chocó (border with Panama), a fact that authorities attribute to clashes between criminal gangs.
This was reported by the commander of the Chocó Police, Colonel Óscar Mauricio Rico, who assured that the authorities arrived after 10 in the morning to the Las Palmas de Quibdó neighborhood and found “four lifeless bodies.”
The officer added that the incident also left three injured, who are receiving “first aid” in a hospital and one of whom is “in a reserved state of health.”
“This fact is due to internal disputes between criminal organizations,” explained Rico, who said that the suspects in this crime are three men identified with the aliases of ‘El Gordo’, ‘Puppy’ and ‘Diomedes’.
Until February 22, according to the Institute of Development and Peace Studies (Indepaz), at least 12 massacres have been perpetrated in Colombia so far this year. EFE
