According to local media reports in the Philippines on July 27, the person in charge of the Disaster Mitigation Office in Binan Aonang Township, Rizal Province stated that at least 27 people were killed and 40 people were rescued in the boat capsizing accident that occurred that afternoon. Search and rescue operations have been suspended due to the current zero visibility.

Earlier, the Philippine Coast Guard said that initial reports indicated that 30 people had died, but further confirmation was needed.

In addition, the Chinese embassy in the Philippines stated that no Chinese citizens were involved in the accident after inquiring the local police station in Rizal Province, which was in charge of the rescue operation.

At around 13:00 local time on the 27th, a boat departed from Binan Aonang Town, Rizal Province, and headed for Tarim Island in the inner lake. Passengers on board panicked because of the strong winds, and they gathered on one side of the ship, causing the ship to capsize.
