At least 12 homes flooded after frontal system – La Discusión

During Sunday afternoon, a landslide was also recorded entering the commune through the El Ala Bridge, a situation in which the municipality and firefighters applied precautionary measures for the vehicles traveling on the route and notified the global company to clear it. route.

This morning, the Municipal Emergency Manager, Cristian Sanhueza, confirmed the families and people damaged by the intense rains, as well as the impact in other sectors of the commune.

“We had flooding of roads and yards of homes in the rural sector. We had 12 houses with flooding in the Bajo El Ala sector, with 35 people in total affected, we also had the collapse of rainwater collectors in the urban sector of San Nicolás, which were treated by municipal emergency personnel. In addition, we had a significant increase in the flow of rivers and canals, which meant flooding in farmers’ land in the rural sector,” commented Sanhueza, anticipating that more sectors of the commune will still be reviewed to review possible new effects.

In the same way, the normal operation of the main routes and roads of the commune was guaranteed, as well as the basic services of electricity and water in the urban sector and APR in the fields.

During this Monday the municipal team will prepare the ALFA report to request state support, as well as the application of the FIBE and delivery of first social aid both with municipal resources as well as contributions from SENAPRED.
