Since March 1, the price of replacing batteries for Apple devices has increased by about 30%.
If your iPhone 8 is starting to give up the ghost and requires a battery change, you will now have to pay 79 euros instead of 55 euros. Just like the iPhone, Apple’s overall product battery replacement prices have increased by 30%, reports the specialized media Mac4Ever.
Apple announced at the beginning of January: an increase was to be expected from 1 March. “The current out-of-warranty battery service charge will apply until the end of February 2023. Effective March 1, 2023, the out-of-warranty battery service charge will increase by 24 euros for all models of ‘iPhone prior to the iPhone 14 “explained the company, which however did not give reasons for this increase.
Thus, replacing the battery of an iPhone 14 still costs 119 euros. But for the iPhone 11, 12, 13, X, all ranges combined, you will have to pay 99 euros instead of 75 euros previously. For all previous models, it takes 79 euros instead of 55 euros.
MacBook et iPad
The increase in these prices does not only concern iPhones but also computers and tablets. For a MacBook Air, the price now stands at 185 euros, an increase of 36 euros.
For iPads, the increase is 40 euros. The operation costs 149 euros to the user instead of 109 euros, in particular for the iPad Pro 12.9 inches (5th generation and earlier models), 11 inches (3rd generation and earlier models), 10.5 inches and 9, 7-inch, iPad Air (5th generation and earlier), and iPad mini (6th generation and earlier). For the other models, the price remains the same.
However, it is still possible to escape these increases by turning to a third-party repairer. Also note that this service is already included in the AppleCare+ contract. Customers who have subscribed to this contract are therefore not affected by this increase.
