Leonard had come to Dresden from Leipzig at the time, had the JA flag with him and was wearing a Trump fan shirt. So he posed for a group photo after the rally in front of the Semperoper.

Journalists also wanted to document the situation. But then the man from Leipzig suddenly became shy of the public: “I don’t like taking pictures and sound recordings,” he said in court.

He was also afraid of the photographer. And he also ran into his flag.

The images looked different and actually show Leonard stabbing with the flagpole. “He stabbed me in the stomach several times,” said the photographer.

After that, several of the group pressed him and held the camera closed until the police intervened.

In the end, Leonard, who has since left the YES, also saw it: “I’m sorry. I didn’t want to hurt anyone.” He received a fine of 3,600 euros (120 daily rates) for dangerous bodily harm in a less serious case.
