In mid-October, Gilberte had to wait 30 hours in the waiting room of a hospital, near Marne-la-Vallée. His grandson denounces inadequate care

Gilberte, 96, waited for 30 hours in the emergency room of the Grand Hôpital de l’Est Ile-de-France, in Jossigny (Seine-et-Marne), in mid-October, reports this Wednesday, November 3 ” The Parisian “.

On October 18, the nonagenarian, who suffers from chronic respiratory failure, is taken to hospital. That same evening, “I found her on a stretcher in the waiting room where she had still not been taken care of. Her mouth was parched with foam around her lips and she begged me to give her a glass of water as she had not drunk since arriving. […] She was bathed in her urine because her diaper had still not been changed, ”her grandson, Alexandre, tells daily.

For two days, he tries to reach the hospital to follow the progress. In vain. “After about twenty phone calls, I was finally able to learn that she had been transferred […] But, when leaving, I had a doubt. »His grandmother was finally hospitalized at Jossigny hospital. “There is a real dehumanization and a slaughter in the emergency room”, deplores Alexandre.
