Noël Jouve was born on December 9, 1931, in Saint-Léger-de-Peyre, but he quickly became Marvejolais. After studying on site and because of his attraction to wood and meticulous work, he entered carpentry and cabinet making in Saint-Chély-d’Apcher for ten years. Married to Jeannette who assisted him and with whom he had three children, he changed direction by settling in Marvejols, as a watchmaker and jeweler, rue de la République, throughout his professional life, before to give way to his son Dominique. Retired, he continued for the pleasure of dealing with old and complex clocks and mechanisms, like the one in Place Cordesse, before returning to his old love, woodworking. Self-taught, he trained on the wood lathe and began to create small objects, with all the dexterity and passion that is his when it comes to creations requiring thoroughness and patience. Still today at the respectable age of 90 years, he tirelessly pursues his good path, working practically every day in his small workshop, with the ever-present desire to create something beautiful.
