A skillful con man from Salta who called himself a lawyer was detained by the police after a series of complaints made by people of humble resources to whom the subject, in addition to defrauding them in the alleged defense or legal procedures, was stealing money from their bank accounts.
The Investigation Brigade finally arrested a man who was implicated in at least five scams linked to legal aid services. They raided his home and kidnapped elements important to the cause.
The various investigative techniques, carried out by members of the Sector 5B Group under the direction of the Criminal Prosecutor 5, managed to identify and bring to justice a man implicated in repeated scams pretending to be a lawyer.
The arrest took place yesterday, after complying with the search warrant issued by the Court of Guarantees 5, in a house in the Olivos neighborhood.
It was established that the suspect operated in business premises and low-income families; pretending to be a lawyer, he offered legal assistance services for vehicle ownership transfers, divorce proceedings, maintenance, pre-trial mediations on family conflicts, among others.
His trick consisted of gaining trust and in this way he accessed the bank accounts of the victims to steal money or directly request an advance for his legal services.
