Asylum seekers will receive corona vaccination from next week | Inland

A trial will also start on 1 June at three COA locations to vaccinate asylum seekers who do not have a medical indication. From June 21, the entire group, a total of approximately 19,000 people, will receive the Janssen vaccine.

In the next five weeks, the GGD will start an information campaign together with the COA and the GZA about the importance of the corona vaccination. The information officers will provide online information that will be translated into twelve languages by an interpreter.

Since the start of the pandemic, there have been corona outbreaks in several asylum seekers’ centers in the Netherlands. It is complicated for people who live in such a center to isolate themselves. If one asylum seeker gets corona, that person often infects others.
