‘Asylum law must be overhauled’ | What you say

Asylum centers are full and we are dealing with refugees from Ukraine. First of all, let’s make clear agreements with the so-called safe countries from North Africa and Eastern Europe that they will take back their inhabitants. Many have nothing to do here, except to abuse facilities.

The asylum law also needs to be overhauled; it must be decided much more quickly whether asylum seekers are eligible for residence status. Objecting to not getting a status should be shortened. And finally, status holders should not be given priority when allocating a rental home, as Minister Hugo de Jonge wants.
