SVösendorf has been unbeaten in 13 home games. Now it’s getting serious: With Korneuburg and Brunn, two benchmarks await.
At home? Still undefeated in the season. Across the seasons, the Vösendorfers have been unbeaten for 13 home games, the last bankruptcy dated October 29, 2021 – there was a 2-4 defeat against Gloggnitz. Last season Vösendorf was the best home team in the league under ex-coach Christoph Knirsch. The home strength continues under player coach Sascha Steinacher.
At the weekend there was a 2-0 home win against Eggendorf. “We have a large square and a playground to match. We just feel good at home,” Steinacher replies when asked why things are going so well for his team at home, but at the same time warns, “Nevertheless, we have to confirm that from week to week.”
The strength at home will be put to the test in the next two games. The home weeks are coming up: First there is a duel against leader Korneuburg, then the derby against Brunn awaits the Steinacher boys. “We don’t want to lose a game at home, our place is uncomfortable for many teams. But for that we have to work as a collective. We don’t have the difference player that other teams have.”
