Dessau – For the first time since October 21, the players of the second division handball team ASV Hamm-Westfalen were allowed to play in front of spectators again. This experience was after the 27:23 (13:15) defeat at Table 14. Dessau-Roßlauer HV, however, is the only thing that coach Michael Lerscht’s team brought with them from their guest appearance in Saxony-Anhalt.

The personnel situation among the guests had worsened again after the final training. Because in addition to the long-term injured playmaker Sören Südmeier and the already announced as ailing right winger Jan Pretzewofsky and backcourt Marian Orlowski, who had been injured again in the home game against EHV Aue after recovering from injury (thigh problems), Lerscht reported two other players in his squad injured at short notice : Circle runner Alexander Engelhardt sustained a finger injury. And Markus Fuchs was twisted. The defense specialist warmed up with the team, but was initially only assigned one seat on the bench before he was later allowed to intervene in the game. Circle runner Melf Krause and right winger Lars Gudat from the second team did not even come with them, as they did last away.

Those who got on the bus didn’t really seem there for the first few minutes. Dessau clearly determined what happened on the record – and above all playmaker Vincent Sohmann. The former ASVer once again looked extremely motivated against his ex-club and put his stamp on the game at the beginning. Five of his total of nine hits were on the account of the middle man in the first quarter of an hour.

Much to the displeasure of the hammer coach: Lerscht pulled the emergency brake after eight minutes with the intermediate score of 6: 1 for the home side, put the green card and loudly vented his anger towards the team in the 60-second break.

Although the guests then scored two goals in a row by Fabian Huesmann and Gerrit Genz to 6: 3, Dessau initially made it 8: 3 (13th). Only then – also due to the inclusion of Jan von Boenigk and Florian Schoss – did Huesmann initiate the strongest phase of the ASV with a seven-meter throw. With a 6-1 run, which Jakob Schwabe crowned with the goal to make it 9: 9, the first equalizer in this game was achieved after 20 minutes. But it shouldn’t be enough for a tour this evening. Dessau coach Uwe Jungandreas also took his first break, and the host stabilized again as a result. Tim Bielzer and Timo Löser (2) brought their team back in front with three goals – at the break it was at least a mortgage of two that the ASV had to chase after in round two.

Von Boenigk shortened to 15:14 immediately after the change, but received his second time penalty in return – an opportunity that the DRHV used to pull away again to three goals (18: 15/36.).

When the most successful hammer up until then, Fabian Huesmann, saw red at 19:16 (40th) after a foul on Max Scheithauer, the shares of the guests fell significantly to a point gain. Especially since Dessau added more hits to 22:16 until the next hammer time-out (44th). The fans were blessed – the ASV served.

As a result, the team of guests stabilized again, but the time ran against the table eleventh. After 50 minutes, the Dessau lead was still five goals. And the hosts dressed in blue were no longer in as much of a hurry to build up the game as they were in the first round – and drove their victory home safely.
