ASV Hamm-Westphalia is still leading the 2nd Handball Bundesliga unchallenged after seven match days. Against last year’s third-placed Dessau-Roßlauer HV, the Westphalia team celebrated a deserved 34:31 victory in front of 1,907 spectators in the WESTPRESS arena, which the favorites secured in the last ten minutes of the game.
As expected by both sides, this was preceded by an exchange of blows in which both teams pushed the pace at times but not consistently. The ASV was in the lead for almost the entire first half, but never more than three goals. And ASV went into the break with a narrow 19:18 lead. Both teams faced defensive challenges.
