Along with the launch of ZenFone 8, ASUS also announced the presence of ZenFone 8 Flip. Yes! This is the second flagship smartphone from ASUS that is present this year and still maintains the flip camera design from the ZenFone 6 and ZenFone 7 series.
ASUS says that not a few people like the previous generation’s designs. For this reason, this Taiwanese manufacturer of technology devices brought it back for the third time. In terms of design, the ZenFone 8 Flip is arguably the ZenFone 7 Pro with an in-screen fingerprint scanner.
The same screen size, same camera arrangement, and almost the same dimensions. ASUS ZenFone 8 Flip comes in new colors, namely Galactic Black and Glacier Silver. While in the screen sector, ASUS packs this smartphone with an AMOLED panel made by Samsung and has a size of 6.67 inches.
This smartphone screen also has a 90Hz refresh rate and HDR10 + support. Not to forget, ASUS also equips the screen with 110% DCI-P3 Color Gamut, a peak brightness level of up to 1000 nits, and a touch sampling rate of 200Hz.
As expected, there is a Snapdragon 888 chipset as the brains of the ZenFone 8 Flip. In addition, ASUS also immersed 8GB of LPDDR5 RAM with 256GB of internal storage with UFS 3.1 technology. There is a dedicated microSD card slot for adding more storage along with Dual SIM support.
ZenFone 8 Flip has three cameras on the back, consisting of a 64 MP f / 1.8 main camera with a Sony IMX686 sensor, a 12 MP ultra-wide camera, and a telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom and a total zoom of up to 12x. ASUS says there’s a sheet of Gorilla Glass 3 covering the camera and the motor module has been upgraded.
Well! For power supply, there is a 5,000 mAh battery with support for 30W fast charging via the USB-C port. Unfortunately, ASUS doesn’t equip the ZenFone 8 Flip with a 3.5mm audio jack nor is it IP68 rated, but it does have stereo speakers, an NXP amplifier, and Hi-Res Audio.
Like the ASUS ZenFone 8, ASUS has also just opened a pre-order offer for the ZenFone 8 Flip in the European market. The ASUS ZenFone 8 Flip with 8GB RAM + 256GB internal storage is offered at a price of € 799 (Rp.13.7 million). ASUS is expected to be able to market this smartphone in many other continents in the near future.
