Jakarta: Yesterday Asus officially announced its newest smartphones from the Zenfone Series, namely Asus Zenfone 8 and Zenfone 8 Flip. Both were announced to be marketed in the European and Taiwanese markets. What about Indonesia?
Rumors have circulated that the two of them will be present in Indonesia, although the release date is not yet known. On the other hand, Asus did not bring the Zenfone 7 and Zenfone 7 Pro to Indonesia some time ago so the country was only spoiled by the presence of the Asus ROG Phone series.
If you still remember the rotating camera model on the Asus Zenfone 6 which is present in Indonesia, it turns out that this design is still used today in the Asus Zenfone 8 Flip series. However, the camera design is not used on the regular ZenFone 8 series.

The rotary camera on the Asus Zenfone 8 Flip provides three cameras that function as a front camera as well as a rear camera. On the regular Asus Zenfone 8 there are only two rear cameras.
Even so, both of them have specifications that both rely on the Snapdragon 888 chipset from Qualcomm. What are the specifications of the regular Asus Zenfone 8?

This smartphone has a 5.9-inch AMOLED screen that is supported by HDR10 Plus quality, 1080 x 2400p resolution and 120Hz refresh rate and is coated with Corning Gorilla Glass Victus. The combination of RAM capacity and internal memory available are 6GB / 128GB, 8GB / 128GB, 8GB / 256GB, and 16GB / 256GB.
The rear camera of the Asus Zenfone 8 has 64MP capability on the main camera and a 12MP ultrawide camera with dual pixel PDAF capability. On the front camera there is a 12MP dual pixel PDAF capability through a punch hole design.
Asus Zenfone 8 has a 4000 mAh battery capacity with 30W fast charging which is claimed to be able to charge the battery from zero to full in a duration of 80 minutes. We turn to the specifications of the Asus Zenfone 8 Flip.
Asus Zenfone 8 Flip
This smartphone screen has a larger size, namely 6.67 inches but a 90Hz refresh rate coated with Corning Gorilla Glass 6. Here only two capacities of RAM and internal memory are provided, namely 8GB / 128GB and 8GB / 256GB.
The rear camera of the Asus Zenfone 8 Flip has the capability of a 64MP main camera, an 8MP 3x optical zoom telephoto camera, and a 12MP dual pixel PDAF ultra wide camera. A 5,000 mAh battery with 30W fast charging is provided here.
Regarding the price, the Asus Zenfone 8 will be priced in a price range starting from EUR600 or around Rp.10.3 million while the Zenfone 8 Flip starts at EUR800 or Rp.13.8 million. In Indonesia, Asus is preparing the presence of the Asus ROG Phone 5.
