Sustainability is the idea behind the Zenbook S 13 OLED, launched in April 2023. With the quality of the manufacturer Asus, the device follows the ultra-thin line, it hit the market for R$ 11 thousand and you could purchase the 1 TB model for R$8,000 on Black Friday.
The cardboard box doesn’t prepare you for the great hardware that comes from Asus. It’s just one centimeter thick, with OLED panel technology and 13.3 inches, 2.8 K resolution. The small format and square lid allowed me to leave the closed notebook standing next to my desktop. One kilogram of weight. Levinho.
It has two USB-C Thunderbolt 4 ports (allows video streaming and charging), a USB-A 3.2 Gen 2 port, an HDMI 2.1 TMDS port, and an audio combo jack for microphone and headphones.
The i7-1280P processor is a big highlight. Very fast for an Asus ultrathin. Fully charges in less than an hour. Although it has an inferior aluminum finish, which is actually an alloy of magnesium and aluminum recycled for the manufacturer, with rubber support, I only felt heat in the center of it. We tested the top of the line model, with 32 GB of RAM and 1 TB of memory.
According to Asus, recyclable materials generate a carbon reduction of more than 50%. Its packaging uses material from forests with zero use of plastics and glue.
We tested Aritana and the Harpy Feather and the game Cult of Lamb, which ran with a bit of choking in live mode. It was a very pleasant and light weekend experience.
