ASUS Unveils Slimmest and Most Sustainable Zenbook S 13 OLED Laptop

ASUS has unveiled its next Zenbook laptop to join its ranks, and this one is quite a unique device. Known as the Zenbook S 13 OLED, this laptop is considered to be ASUS’ slimmest and most compact laptop ever, and has also been developed with sustainable practices and materials in mind.

This laptop will be powered by the 13th Generation Intel i7 CPU, along with Intel Iris Xe graphics, all of which boast up to 32GB of LPDDR5 RAM clocked at 5200 MHz. This laptop will also support up to 1TB PCIe 4.0×4 SSD operating at a read speed of 6500 MB/s. All of this means that this laptop has a 20% performance increase over the previous Zenbook model.

As for actual size and dimensions, the Zenbook S 13 OLED will be an incredible 1cm thick, and will only weigh one kilogram, making it ideal for carrying around. The chassis will be made of a military-grade tested magnesium-aluminum alloy, while looking at the laptop being made from 100% recycled materials. It will also feature a Plasma Ceramic Aluminum cover which aims to make it water-resistant and eco-friendly, all with a unique appearance.

The screen for the laptop will be a 13-inch OLED panel mounted on a thin bezel. The panel will be clocked in at a 2880x1800p resolution, and will boast a 16:10 aspect ratio, 100% DCI-P3 color gamut, and 550 peak brightness, meaning it should be a pretty vibrant display.

Otherwise, we’re told the laptop will feature a 63Wh battery aiming to last for around 14 hours on a single charge. It will also be able to recharge to 50% capacity in 30 minutes. ASUS also shared that this laptop will have a dual-fan cooling solution, a Dolby Atmos-powered speaker system that has been made with Harman Kardon, Wi-Fi 6E connectivity, as well as several different ports, including HDMI 2.1, two USB Thunderbolt 4, USB 3.2 Gen. A, and audio jacks.

As for when the Zenbook S 13 OLED will launch, neither that nor the price of the laptop has been communicated yet.
