ASUS ROG Phone 8 Series: Global Launch Details and Specifications

This topic was written by Sultan Al-Qahtani – ASUS recently hinted at the ROG Ally 8 series of smartphones in the global market. The device will feature a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor, likely paired with ASUS’s advanced heat dissipation functionality to deliver the best possible gaming performance.

The brand has now confirmed that the device will debut in China on January 16. The announcement did not reveal any new details about the smartphone, but it confirms that the launch event will begin at 7:30 pm GMT.

The company has not confirmed any details other than the partial design of the back as seen in the teaser image above, and netizens have taken out the shades from the teaser to reveal the redesigned camera setup.

The new model will have a square-shaped camera module, which detaches from the right edge, technically making it pentagon-shaped.

We can see three camera modules on it, in addition to an LED flash. Since there are no RGB LEDs on the back, it is assumed that this could be the ROG Phone 8.

All three models from the series, namely the ROG Phone 8, ROG Phone 8 Pro and ROG Phone 8 Ultimate, have appeared on Geekbench revealing some interesting details.

Geekbench listings show that the standard version features 16GB of RAM, while the Pro and Ultimate models have 24GB of RAM.

Other than that, the ROG Phone 8 appears to come with the standard Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor, while the Pro and Ultimate models feature a different version of the chip, with a lower response speed.

While the global launch date has not yet been confirmed, ASUS ROG will hold an event on January 8, one day before CES 2024, to reveal the “exciting new 2024 ROG lineup.” The brand is expected to unveil the ROG Phone 8 at this event.
