ASUS launched the phone gaming ROG Phone 7 on the Indonesian market with prices starting at IDR 10 million for the lowest specifications.
ASUS Southeast Asia Regional Director Jimmy Lin said the company creates devices that don’t just have software support or software to improve performance, but also pay attention to the details of each component in it.
“This is to provide the best performance that cannot be found on mobile phones gaming others,” Jimmy said about ROG Phone 7 in a press release, Wednesday (20/7).
The 7th ROG Phone series consists of two models, namely ROG Phone 7 and ROG Phone 7 Ultimate. The cellphone comes with a chip made by Qualcomm, Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, which is claimed to be 15% faster and 15% more power efficient than the previous generation chip.
Quoted from Antara, ASUS takes advantage of Qualcomm’s power efficiency features by providing a GameCool 7 cooling system to cool the ROG Phone 7 series CPU from all directions in three ways. During short sessions, the thermal compound Boron Nitride on one side of the CPU works to reduce slowdown.
For the middle session, cooling is done by a larger vapor chamber and graphite sheets on the other side of the CPU. For marathon sessions, the ROG Phone 7 series has an AeroActive Cooler 7 equipped with a fan above the CPU module for active US-powered cooling and Peltier elements for extra cooling performance.
Support gaming Also seen from the memory capacity of the ROG Phone 7 series, ASUS provides an LPDDR5X RAM capacity of 8533 Mbps up to 16GB while the storage capacity is UFS 4.0 up to 512GB.
For visuals when playing games, ASUS provides the ROG Phone 7 series with a 165 Hz Samsung AMOLED screen touch sampling rate 720Hz and brightness up to 1,500 nits. ASUS uses visual processing from Pixelworks for color accuracy.
Visualization gaming the cellphone is also supported by X Sense software which can help users to detect important events on the screen. When an enemy approaches or an important object appears on the map, the cellphone will give a ‘pop-up’ notification.
The ROG Phone 7 series also has the X Capture feature which automatically records precious moments when playing games, for example after defeating an enemy or winning a match.
The ASUS ROG Phone 7 series is equipped with an ultrasonic AirTrigger control that provides a gaming experience using a console. AirTrigger supports a variety of gestures, including Dual Action, Press and Lift and Gyroscope Aiming.
On the back of the phone, ASUS has ROG Vision in the form of a color matrix that can display animations triggered by system events, such as charging status and incoming calls. On ROG Phone 7 Ultimate, users can create personalized animations.
Apart from abilities gaming, the ASUS ROG Phone 7 series is also equipped with three rear cameras in the form of a 50MP main lens, a 120-degree ultra-wide angle 13MP and a 5MP macro lens. While on the front, there is a 32MP selfie lens.
In Indonesia, ASUS provides two storage options for the regular ROG Phone 7, namely the 8GB + 256GB version for IDR 10,999,000 and the 12GB + 256GB version for IDR 13,999,000. For ROG Phone 7 Ultimate, ASUS only provides 16GB + 512GB of storage for IDR 18,999,000.
