ASUS ROG launches gaming tablet and new laptops at CES 2022

At CES 2022, ASUS ROG announced an impressive lineup of gaming laptops. The brand is also launching a gaming tablet for the first time since Mothership.

A new year, new hardware. Traditionally, CES is the event where just about every brand presents its new laptops and the perfect time for gamers to determine if they need an upgrade. CES is also the time to introduce innovative products, and ASUS and ROG never disappoint. This is what we saw a few years ago the amazing ROG Mothership landing at the fair, a 2-in-1 monster that required a whopping two chargers to maximize its performance.

ROG goes (even more) mobile with Flow Z13

Last year we saw the presentation of the Flow X13 and XG Mobile external GPU, a compact laptop that could be transformed into a premium gaming machine if desired. A great piece of technology for the hybrid gamer.

This year ASUS decided for a best of CES of years gone by and the result of those efforts is the new Flow Z13 gaming tablet. With Windows 11, up to a 14-core Intel Core i9-12900H, an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3050 Ti laptop GPU, and 5200MHz LPDDR5 memory, this tablet packs a lot of power in an ultra-thin and light chassis.

Gaming can be done in different ways: Classically with mouse and keyboard, handheld via the touchscreen, with a controller in combination with the kickstand or as part of a powerful gaming setup thanks to the XG Mobile. In addition to last year’s NVIDIA RTX 3080 version, the latter is now also available with an AMD Radeon RX 6850M XT GPU. De Flow X13 was then updated with the latest AMD Ryzen 9 6000 Series CPU and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3050 Ti Laptop GPU.

Re-gaming with two screens

Another innovative product from ROG are the Zephyrus laptops with two displays. Last year we reviewed the ROG Zephyrus Duo 15 SE, which is followed by the new Zephyrus Duo 16. In this model you can again expect the very best, with an AMD Ryzen 9 6980HX CPU and a 150W NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 Ti laptop GPU. New is the Dual Spec panel, which can switch between 4K 120Hz and Full HD 240Hz, so gamers can choose whether to prioritize resolution or framerate per game or app per app.

Furthermore, the ROG Zephyrus G14, G15 and M16 this year upgrades to Windows 11 and the latest next-generation hardware, including DDR5 RAM. The G14 stands out from the crowd with its AniMe Matrix display, which this year consists of even more mini-LEDs, for a total of 1,449.

ROG Strix is for the most demanding gamers.
