Asus ROG Gladius III Wireless Review, Normal Display Satisfaction Guaranteed

Jakarta: When buying gaming peripherals or accessories, the brand is definitely a guarantee of quality, this is what I think makes the Asus ROG product line very popular. Some time ago Asus released the latest product in the gaming mouse category, the Asus ROG Gladius III Wireless.

Looking at the outside, this gaming mouse does look ordinary but it actually provides very satisfying features and performance for a wireless gaming mouse which is priced at IDR 1,849,000.

In our opinion, Asus ROG Gladius III Wireless has an extraordinary design that may not even attract attention like other brands. Here there are three parts that are equipped with RGB LEDs so that they can light up, namely the wheel scroller, the Asus ROG logo, and the side of the thumbs decorated with the words “ROG” and “Republic of Gamers”.

How do you feel about this article?

You will agree that it looks so simple, when we hold it it also feels light in weight. The weight design seems to be made to be comfortable for users with small hand sizes and long playing duration so they don’t feel tired or sore.

At the top including the side there are six buttons that can be customized (programmable) their functions through special software called Armory Crate. You’ll also find two more buttons at the bottom that serve as the pairing and profile buttons.

Here the position of the profile button does feel less ergonomic, in contrast to the position of the DPI profile button which is just behind the wheel scroller or between the left click and right click buttons. The color change on the RGB LED becomes an indicator of the profile and DPI that is actively used.

If you look closely it’s still at the bottom. Asus ROG Gladius III Wireless provides a slot for storing wireless dongles which in our opinion are less secure because they are easily detached when the mouse falls, even though there is a magnetic inside that makes it attached.

On the front there is a USB-C model hole for the charging cable as well as for wired mode. In the sales package, the Asus ROG Gladius III includes four mouse feet, a USB extender, as well as two ROG Micro Switches and a tweezer switch, which we will explain about its function.

Asus ROG Gladius III Wireless of course offers wireless connectivity which consists of two types, 2.4GHz RF with a dongle and Bluetooth LE 5.2 connected without a dongle. Here the use of a dongle is clearly safe to maintain the responsiveness of the gaming mouse input, but you may have a gaming laptop that has limited USB ports.

For those who want to be more secure, the Asus ROG Gladius III Wireless has a cable with a very light material design, a braided model but has a very smooth texture. Asus calls it a Paracord cable because it is not easily blocked by the mousepad and other surface textures. So competitive gameplay will be maintained during the game.

The same thing also wants to be presented through the design of mouse feet or mouse foot pads which are called using 100 percent PTFE material. We’ve tried it and proved the Asus ROG claim is true that the design keeps the mouse moving smoothly on various surfaces.

More and more gaming mouse users are now paying attention to the click experience of the switch on the left/right click button, a concept similar to that of a mechanical gaming keyboard.

The Asus ROG Gladius III Wireless is claimed to be the world’s first gaming mouse with a very easy switch replacement model. They call this design a Push-Fit Switch Socket feature, and it is mentioned that it also supports the use of Omron’s optical micro switch.

Even so, to do so, users still need a tool to remove the bolts and open the body shell of this gaming mouse at the bottom. The ROG Micro Switches used are claimed to withstand up to 70 million clicks, this in our opinion feels very tactile.

As for durability, Asus claims that the battery can last up to 55 hours when RGB is off and a 2.4 GHz RF connection, aka using a wireless dongle, will last up to 85 hours if you rely on Bluetooth.

RGB customization and button functions can be done via the Armory Crate software, so users with non-Asus ROG laptops must download them first. The good news, this gaming mouse has on-board memory to store five profiles without re-customizing on each different device.

Conclusion

In our opinion, the Asus Gladius III Wireless offers a gaming mouse that has very complete essential features even though it looks ordinary. The RGB effect elements here are not very attractive, but the features are very luxurious and deserve to be priced at the price mentioned at the beginning.
