“Asus ROG Ally vs Valve Steam Deck: A Comparison of Specs and Performance”

Last week, the anticipated Asus ROG Ally handheld saw its release date and price revealed. The device at the same time got into the hands of a larger number of journalists and community builders. The result is the first tests and evaluations in which the device from Asus is compared with the rival Steam Deck from Valve.

For example, the channel provided a clear comparison ElAnalistaDeBits. In his video, he focused on comparing recording times and graphics for several games. Asus ROG Ally mainly benefits from a higher resolution. While the tested games run in 720 to 800p resolution on Steam Deck, ROG Ally does can offer 1080p resolution.

In addition, the IPS display that the Asus handheld is equipped with allows playing at up to 120Hz. Steam Deck players have to settle for 60Hz. The overall higher performance parameters of ROG Ally were also reflected in the difference in recording times, where Steam Deck was also defeated.

However, it must be noted that the higher performance and associated benefits are in the case of the Asus ROG Ally redeemed also with a higher price tag, which will amount to 19,490 crowns in the Czech Republic. But Asus for the second half of the year is preparing a less powerful variantwhich should be even closer to Steam Deck in terms of price and performance.

The currently introduced higher version will be released on June 13.
