As early as July this year, Asustek laid off a number of employees in the PC department. The affected employees included the Taiwan headquarters and the team in Suzhou, China. However, ASUS has already shown signs of its strategy of “emphasizing ROG and ignoring Zenfone” in smartphones. In the past (2022) year, ASUS only launched the Zenfone 9, a Zenfone series mobile phone, and did not release the Zenfone 8 Flip with the same large screen as the previous year.
