TEMPO.CO, Jakarta – Asus officially introduced ExpertBook B5, the latest business laptop series that carries an ultra-portable design and is designed as a device for business professionals.
Besides being wrapped by a body weighing 1 kilogram, ExpertBook B5 also equipped with an Asus OLED screen technology, and comes in two form-factors, namely clamshell and convertible.
“A very portable and tough design, supported by best-in-class performance, makes ExpertBook B5 can always be relied on by professional business people,” said Asus Regional Director Southeast Asia Jimmy Lin in a statement, Sunday, February 27, 2022.
Portability and convenience of use are top priorities in the series laptop ExpertBook B5. This device is equipped with a battery life of up to 14 hours, as well as various other features, including RAID support for SSD, equipped with NumberPad 2.0 for easy access to numpad keys, to equipped with AI noise cancellation technology so that users can communicate easily and comfortably.
The ExpertBook B5 laptop series is equipped with security features such as a TPM 2.0 chip to ensure the integration and security of data stored on the laptop, and is equipped with a biometric security system that relies on a fingerprint reader sensor that has been integrated with the Windows Hello feature.
The back of the screen and the bottom of the body of the ExpertBook B5 laptop series are made using magnesium-aluminum alloy material, so the weight can be reduced to 1 kilogram.
The magnesium-aluminum alloy material also makes the laptop series tough, as proven through the certification that passed the US military standard (MIL-STD 810H) extreme test.
The Expert Book B5 laptop series has a body thickness of 16.9mm, and comes in two form-factor variants, namely the clamshell (B5302CEA) with a screen that can be opened up to 180 degrees and the convertible (B5302FEA) with a screen that can be rotated 360 degrees.
The ExpertBook B5 laptop series is powered by an 11th Gen Intel Core processor with DDR4 3200Mhz memory with a capacity of up to 48GB. Meanwhile, the storage relies on a PCIe SSD with a capacity of up to 2TB which can be configured in a RAID to improve performance.
ExpertBook B5 has been validated as an Intel EVO Platform laptop. In addition, this laptop series has also adopted WiFi 6 and a relatively complete port, including USB Type-A, HDMI, 3.5mm combo audio port, and gigabit ethernet via Micro HDMI.
Two USB Type-C Thunderbolt 4 ports are also available on this laptop. In addition to offering data transfer speeds of up to 40Gbps, the Thunderbolt 4 port on the ExpertBook B5 laptop series can also be used for charging as well as a display output port that supports resolutions up to 8K.
The ExpertBook B5 laptop series is one of the first Asus business laptops to be equipped with an Asus OLED screen. Asus OLED has a 100 percent DCI-P3 color gamut and has received Pantone Validated Display certification.
Asus OLED also supports HDR technology and is VESA DisplayHDR True Black certified. Asus OLED is also equipped with Eye Care, a feature that allows the spectrum of blue light that is harmful to the eyes to be drastically reduced without compromising visual quality.
The Asus ExpertBook B5 clamshell is priced starting at Rp. 22 million, while the Asus ExpertBook B5 convertible starts from Rp. 21 million.
