Asus ’new notebook also celebrates the manufacturer’s first portable PC in space twenty-five years ago.
After Asus unveiled its exciting new laptop at CES 2022 earlier this year, the first customers to purchase the ZenBook 14X OLED Space Edition notebook, coordinating space travel.
The laptop is powered by a Core i9-12900H processor from Intel’s 12th generation, with an integrated Iris Xe graphics solution and 32GB of memory. The 90 Hz, 16:10 aspect ratio display, which provides even more space for work, is no longer a space technology with the Pantone-certified OLED panel, but the new ZenBook has some exciting extras.
The special appearance of space exploration is made even more extravagant by the 3.5-inch OLED display, which allows the user to display various animations, notifications, custom text, date and time, or even battery status on the back of the main screen. The primary screen is only 14 inches diagonal, which is barely cluttered around, and the Asus Zenbook 14X is only 15.9mm thick, so we managed to restrain its weight to 1.4kg. Although the physical numeric keypad has lagged behind the small, easy-to-carry machine, LEDs can be used to conjure up the touchpad, and the convenience features don’t end there at all.
Fast access is provided by a fingerprint reader built into the power button, convenient and secure communication is provided by noise filtering using artificial intelligence, and an electrically openable and lockable cover for the webcam. However, perhaps the coolest feature of the ZenBook 14X OLED Space Edition is that we don’t have to rely solely on the manufacturer’s word about its resilience.
This is because the laptop has been certified by the U.S. space authorities, which we don’t know can guarantee that the machine will survive a possible space trip, but it is sure to withstand severe shocks in addition to extreme low and high temperatures. It is no coincidence that this model was released by Asus this year, as one of the manufacturer’s laptops was used for the first time in space twenty-five years ago.
