ASUS introduces 15.6 “Zenbook Pro Duo OLED with RTX 3070 for 4000 euros – Computer – News

ASUS announced two new Zenbook Pro Duo laptops at CES. In these models, the second screen, behind the keyboard, can fold up a little. The 15.6 “version with OLED screen supplies ASUS with a Core i9 and an RTX 3070 video card.

ASUS has slightly modified the concept of its Zenbook Duo laptops announced in 2019. During the CES showed the company that these laptops still have an elongated second 12.6 “display between keyboard and primary display. This 1080p display, which ASUS calls ScreenPad Plus, can now automatically flip up slightly when opening the laptop.

This has advantages in terms of airflow, according to the manufacturer, and the display of the two panels would therefore fit together better. The maximum screen brightness has been increased by 60 percent to 400cd / m², which should improve display in incident light, for example. ASUS has upgraded the software for the second screen, ScreenXpert 2, which includes a management panel that allows users to assign their own applications to buttons, sliders, dials and scroll buttons. This Control Panel works as standard with Adobe Photoshop and Lightroom Classic, among others.

ASUS focuses on performance with the Zenbook Duo Pro 15 OLED, and this laptop gets powerful hardware with a Core i9 octacore and an RTX 3070 video card. There is also now 32GB DDR4, twice as much ram as the previous model. The new Duo Pro 15 retains the OLED touchscreen of the previous version.

In the adjustments to the Zenbook Duo 14, the company has focused on making it thinner. This version is 16.9mm thick, where the previous one had a thickness of 19.9mm. The new 14 “variant weighs a little more: 1.6 kilograms instead of 1.5 kilograms. Both laptops also feature Thunderbolt 4 over USB-C, HDMI 2.0 and support for Wi-Fi 6.
