ASUS equips ZenBook 14 with 90Hz OLED screen and new AMD and Intel processors – Computer – News

ASUS introduces the ZenBook 14 OLED containing a 90Hz OLED panel with a resolution of 2880×1800 pixels. There will be versions with new AMD and Intel processors. ASUS also presents a Space Edition of its ZenBook 14X OLED laptop.

The ZenBook 14 OLED has a 180-degree hinge and a 14″ screen with a 16:10 aspect ratio. The OLED screen can display 100 percent of the DCI-P3 color space according to the manufacturer. ASUS gives the laptop its NumberPad 2.0; that is a touchpad that can also be used as a virtual numeric keypad.

ASUS makes an Intel version with type number UX3402 and it is equipped with up to an Intel Core i7-1260P processor and up to 16GB LPDDR5 memory. This version will have a performance mode in which the processor can consume up to 30W. Charging is done with a maximum of 100W. The AMD version with type number UM3402 gets a maximum of a Ryzen 7 5825U processor and up to 16GB of Lpddr4x memory.

Both versions will receive an SSD with a capacity of up to 1TB, a 75Wh battery and WiFi 6E support. The Intel version uses an Intel AX211 adapter for this, and the AMD versions contain a MediaTek MT7922 adapter.

The laptop is 16.9 mm thick and weighs 1.39 kilograms. The Intel version has two USB Type-C connections with Thunderbolt 4 and USB4 support. The AMD variant has the same Type-C connections, but with USB 3.2 Gen2 support. Both models also have a USB-A port, an HDMI 2.0 connection, audio jack and microSD card reader.

ASUS ZenBook 14X OLED Space Edition

ASUS also makes a ZenBook 14X OLED Space Edition. That’s a tribute to the ASUS P6300 laptop used in the Russian MIR space station in 1997. The new laptop has a monochrome 3.5″ OLED screen on the lid for displaying notifications, the time or battery status, among other things. This also works when the laptop is in standby. Users can adjust the display of the screen with the MyASUS software and the manufacturer claims that the screen consumes an average of 1 watt.

The ZenBook 14X has the same 14″ OLED screen as the regular ZenBook 14, but is a heavier version with two fans with a cooling capacity of 45W. As a result, there is a more powerful processor in this model. ASUS puts a maximum of one Intel Core i9-12900H in the laptop, combined with a maximum of 32GB RAM and a 1TB SSD.As far as we know, only a UX5401 version with Intel processors will appear. When the new laptops will be released and what they will cost is not yet known.
