The government delegate on Asturias, Delia Losa, has announced that increase police control at night after the end of the state of alarm and the curfew this Sunday, since “it is the most unprotected part of the day from a legal point of view” and in which “situations can occur that increase the risk of contagion.”

This has been advanced after the meeting he has held with the representatives of the State Security Forces and Bodies and the Asturian Federation of Councils, with a view to “organize the arrival of the new normal”. The meeting was attended, among others, by the Chief of Police of Asturias, Luisa María Benvenuty; the Chief Commissioner of the Operational Regional Coordination Unit, Anselmo de la Riva; the interim chief colonel of the 14th Zone of the Civil Guard, Francisco Puerta, in addition to different positions in the Oviedo, Gijón and Avilés Town Councils.
“The night is a subject that worries us a lot”, Losa has recognized, since without the curfew situations can occur that prevent a positive evolution of the pandemic data. Municipalities will also have a lot of responsibility in controlling this time slot, has pointed out, when it comes to controlling bottles and crowds in public spaces.

Losa recalled that the resolution of August 18 of the Ministry of Health is still in force, without prejudice to the specific regulations that may be included in municipal ordinances, prohibits the gathering of people for the consumption of alcoholic beverages on public roads. In this sense, the Security Forces and Bodies will increase surveillance at night to avoid public order problems.
