Asturians, leading in television and radio consumption, and lagging behind in Internet use | north

Asturians were at the forefront of television consumption last year, with 228 minutes per person per day (three hours and 48 minutes), 23 minutes more than the national average of 205 minutes, according to the SGAE Yearbook of the Performing, Musical and Audiovisual Arts.

The yearbook specifies that, in both cases, the data reflect a decrease compared to 2020when social restrictions had triggered the domestic demand for information and culture.

Also, last year the Asturians were i third largest radio consumer, averaging 99 minutes a day, eight minutes less than in 2020, while the national average was 92 minutes, two less than the previous year.

Instead the Asturians were at the bottom of using the internetonly behind Galicians and Extremadurans.

Specific, 81.2% of Asturians had access to the internet in 2021compared to the national average of 88.1 percent.

However, Asturian companies present better figures for the implementation of information technologies with 100% computer use99.9% Internet connectivity and 83.4% use of digital signatures, records higher than the Spanish average.

On the other hand, teleworking has only been used in 43.6% of Asturian companies, compared to the national average of 50.6%.
