What is known of the tragedy
At least eight people were killed and dozens more injured after a stampede happened Friday night at the Astroworld Festival in Houston (USA). The victims were between 14 and 27 years old, and Texas police have already opened a criminal investigation.
On Saturday, the head of that institution, Troy Finner, said the investigation would include the homicide and narcotics divisions. Panic broke out as the crowd began to push onto the stage of the event, amid a performance by rapper Travis Scott.
“I am absolutely devastated by what happened last night.”the rapper said in a statement. “My prayers are with the families of all those affected by what happened.”He added in his statement that he shared on Twitter.
The incident happened around 9:15 pm “The crowd started pushing towards the front of the stage and people started to panic.”, Houston Fire Chief Sam Peña told reporters.
Victims of what happened presented a complaint against the couple of Kylie Jenner and Drake, whom they accuse of negligence and “incitement” to chaos. They point out that Scott has already “incited chaos” at previous concerts and accuse his colleague of continuing to sing despite the crowd “becoming uncontrollable.”
Meanwhile, more information about what happened continues to come to light and a fact has just been known that makes what happened even more overwhelming: Kylie Jenner, pregnant, and her daughter Stormi, just three years old, were in the audience and could be victims of the tragedy.
