“Astronomical Phenomenon That Became a Hot Topic in 2022” and “Recommended Observation Ranking in 2023” – Nazology

Review of the astronomical phenomenon in 2022

Focused astronomical phenomena and results of observation

January 4th: Quadrantid meteor shower

In 2022, the maximum expected weather and moonlight, near perfect conditionwas. When I watched for about 15 minutes on the porch before sunrise,I was able to see a meteor that draws a bright and long trail

On the 4th, one of the three major meteor showers, the Quadrantid meteor shower. Perfect conditions this year!

May 1: Jupiter and Venus close

A phenomenon with great expectations due to the approach of two bright planets. I had intended to go camping with my “Sommelier of the Stars®” friends in a place with good observation conditions and take pictures with a good telescope and camera, but unfortunately it was raining and I could not see it.

Introducing Recommended Astronomical Events for GW in 2022! Brightness number one two planets is very close! You can see it even during the day!?

July 10: Occultation of Delta Juba, a star on the forehead of Scorpio

I could see it through a telescope. Juba is a second magnitude star, so it can normally be seen with the naked eye.

On the night of the 10th, you can observe a “stellar eclipse” in which the stars on Scorpio’s forehead are hidden behind the moon!

July 21: Eclipse of Mars

In Tokyo, I could only see the moonrise and moonrise while Mars was hidden by the moon, but the altitude was too low, 7 degrees, so it was impossible to observe.

At midnight on the 21st, there will be a chance to observe an “Eclipse of Mars” where Mars will be hidden behind the Moon!

August 13: Perseid meteor shower

Originally, the maximum time was 10:00 in the morning and conditions were not good with a full moon on the 12th and the weather was bad on the day of the peak. Even though I observed it the next day, I couldn’t see the meteor.

The 13th is the maximum day of the Perseid meteor shower Explaining the best method of observing even with a full moon

November 8: total lunar eclipse and eclipse of Uranus

There were plenty of sunny spots across the nation and we were able to see the whole process, so it was a blast. I was concerned if I could see the eclipse of Uranus during totality with a low magnification telescope with an aperture of 60°.I could see the whole process from the infiltration of Uranus to its appearance

Uranus is positioned just below the moon during wholeness, and this is an image just before the infiltration.

“Total Lunar Eclipse & Uranus Eclipse” can be observed all over Japan on Tuesday, November 8!

December 1: Closest approach to Mars

Mars isn’t only visible on this day, so I enjoyed seeing it gradually brighten in 2022. Until January next year, it looks like it’s still going to be fun.

On December 1, Mars will approach Earth for the first time in two years and two months!

December 14: Geminids meteor shower

2022 has been a successful year. Although there was some moonlight, the maximum forecast was 10pm, which was a good time for observing.7 meteors were seen in 30 minutes of observations from approximately 10pm.3 of which were brighter than 1st magnitude!

On the 14th, the Geminids meteor shower will peak! Watch the year-end astronomical show

What are the top 3 astronomical phenomena in 2022?

In Nazology, we also introduced information about the observation of the “Super Moon” and “Orionid meteor shower”, but this is all for the phenomena and astronomical achievements that had high expectations. So, here are my personal top 3 astronomical phenomena in 2022.

  1. Total lunar eclipse and eclipse of Uranus
  2. Gemini meteor shower
  3. Quadrantid meteor shower
