Written by Mahmoud Ragheb Wednesday, January 10, 2024 01:00 AM The institute revealed National Astronomical Research InstituteAccording to astronomical calculations carried out by the Institute’s Sun Research Laboratory, headed by Professor Dr. Yasser Abdel Hadi, the crescent of the month of Rajab will be born immediately after the conjunction occurs at exactly 1:59 PM local Cairo time tomorrow, Thursday 29 Jumada al-Akhirah 1445 AH corresponding to 1/11/ 2024 AD (sighting day) and that the crescent will set before sunset on that day (sighting day) in Mecca and in Cairo, as well as in most Arab and Islamic capitals and cities.
The moon sets 3 minutes before sunset in Mecca and 7 minutes in Cairo, and in the rest of the governorates of the Arab Republic of Egypt with periods ranging between (2-9 minutes), and in Arab and Islamic capitals and cities with periods ranging between (1-17 minutes).
Thus, Friday 1/12/2024 AD is the completion of the month of Jumada al-Akhirah 1445 AH, and thus the beginning of the month of Rajab 1445 AH astronomically falls on Saturday 1/13/2024 AD.
