“At dawn, when the sky is clear and you are not in a big city, the Milky Way sash will be clearly visible,” said Marufin, Tuesday (20/4/2021).

Marufin, who is also the supervisor and assistant of the Gombong Ball Science Study Forum (FKIK) and the Falak Science Research Institute (MKIF) in Kebumen, Central Java, again explained in more detail what is meant by the sling of the Milky Way galaxy. .

When is the right time to observe the Milky Way galaxy?
Marufin said the Milky Way galaxy sash can be seen from midnight to early morning from April to September, as long as the weather is clear.
However, this can only be seen in rural areas or small cities that have not been polluted by light (maximum Bortle scale of 3).
“The Milky Way sash can only be seen in dark areas which have a maximum Bortle scale of 3,” explained Marufin.
At the maximum Bortle scale of 3, the appearance of this sling is an indicator of whether the local environment has been polluted by light or not.

The requirements for photographing this sling of the Milky Way galaxy are at a shutter speed of more than 5 seconds and at an ISO of more than 2000.
